INVISIBLE BRACES IN FRESH BREATH DENTAL CLINIC FOR KIDS & TEENS
Starting little shifts today goes a long way
As a child grows, their smile grows with them. And even with baby teeth, it may be time for children aged 6 to 10 to start orthodontic treatment. This is known as Phase 1 treatment.
At this stage, doctors can see issues that may need early treatment to address a developing problem.
- Phase 1 treatment for growing children with a mix of baby and permanent teeth.*
- Phase 2 treatment for pre-teens and teens when most or all permanent teeth have erupted.
* Retainers are recommended in between phases while waiting for the permanent teeth to grow in and after Phase 2 is completed to help retain the corrections made
Advantages of Phase 1 treatment
The goal of Phase 1 treatment is to develop young jaws and/or arches to make room for existing teeth and for incoming permanent teeth
- Can prevent pre-existing bite issues from getting worse
- Can fix existing teeth-straightening conditions
- Can improve the appearance of a growing child’s smile
- Can correct oral habits such as thumb sucking or tongue thrusting
- Can make Phase 2 treatment shorter and easier
DENTAL IMPLANTS VS DENTAL BRIDGES? WHICH ONE IS BETTER
Missing teeth and do you want a fixed teeth option?? then Dental Implant and Dental Bridge are the only two options to get fixed teeth. But am sure you are wondering which one is better and which one to opt for??
In the past, a dental bridge was the only non-removable option, and if it involves more than just the missing tooth. The adjacent teeth need to be “prepped” by removing most of the enamel in order to fabricate the tooth bridge. With dental implants however, the dentist replaces just the individual tooth for a result that is stronger and permanent.
All it takes is a simple dental procedure to get your dental bridge fixed. It’s much quicker and easier to get dental bridges (only a few weeks at the most), whereas implants may take several months. Bridges are generally more affordable than implants, and they are still strong and supportive for your mouth.
But there are disadvantages in having dental bridges :
* The supporting teeth for the bridge on both ends should be strong and healthy. If one or both of them are weak .Bridge is not recommended.
* Since they are not removable, they are more difficult to maintain.
* Some of the natural surrounding teeth will be removed for the placement of dental bridges.
* Although they last for several years, they still need to be replaced every 10 years.
Changes in Your Oral Care Routine
Your ability to keep your mouth healthy will be easier with an implant. Dental bridges are cemented or “fixed” in the mouth, and involve at least three crowns connected together to fill the space of the missing tooth. This design creates challenges when brushing and flossing, so extra oral hygiene instruction and meticulous home care are crucial.
Implants also support jaw health. Your bone stays healthy and strong, which impacts both the shape of your face and oral health positively as you age. Implants naturally mimic the function and feel of a real tooth and often look better than bridges

5 MYTHS ABOUT ROOT CANAL TREATMENT!! DEBUNKED
5 MYTHS ABOUT RCT..
The thought of root canal may make you fearful or uneasy if you aren’t familiar with the procedure. There are common misconceptions that endodontic treatments such as root canals, cause pain and/or illness and should be avoided at all costs. The exact opposite is true. The pain, inconvenience and cost of avoiding endodontic (RCT) treatment in favor of tooth extraction or a wait-and-see approach can be easily avoided. The longer you postpone treatment the more you risk the chance to save your tooth.
Put your mind at ease as we reveal five most common myths about root canals:
MYTH 1. ROOT CANAL TREATMENT IS PAINFUL
FACT: Decades ago that may have been the case, but with modern technology and anesthetics you won’t experience any more pain than if you went to have a cavity filled. The pain from a severe toothache, often caused by damaged tissues in the tooth, can be easily remedied when an endodontist removes the damaged tissue through root canal treatment. In addition, endodontists are experts in painful management, and most cases can be treated quickly and comfortably.
MYTH 2: RCT REQUIRES A LOT OF APPOINTMENTS/VISITS
FACT: With today’s cutting edge technology, most root canals can be performed in one or two clinic visits.
MYTH 3 : ITS BETTER TO PULL THE TOOTH OFF THAN GET A RCT
FACT: Saving your natural teeth, if possible, is always the best option. Nothing artificial can replace the look or function of a natural tooth so it’s important to always consider root canal treatment as an option. Endodontic treatment has a high success rate and many root canal-treated teeth last a lifetime. Replacing an extracted tooth with a bridge or implant requires more time in treatment and may result in further procedures to neighboring teeth and supporting tissue.
MYTH 4 :ROOT CANAL TREATMENT CAUSES ILLNESS
FACT: Information you may find on the Internet or elsewhere, claiming that if you receive a root canal treatment you’re more likely to become ill or contract a disease in the future simply isn’t true. This false claim was based on long-debunked and poorly designed research conducted nearly a century ago, long before modern medicine understood the causes of many diseases. There is no valid, scientific evidence linking root canal treatment to disease elsewhere in the body.
MYTH 5: AFTER HAVING A ROOT CANAL, MY TOOTH IS COMPLETELY RESTORED
FACT: After having a root canal, it is extremely important to make a follow-up appointment with your dentist to have the tooth permanently restored. After the pulp of the tooth has been removed, the tooth can become very dry and brittle. Having a permanent restoration like getting a crown/cap fixed will help protect your tooth from fracturing.
COMPUTER-GUIDED DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY
WHAT IS IMAGE-GUIDED DENTAL IMPLANT
Guided dental implantology is a type of computer guided surgery performed using 3D radiographic and surface scan information to achieve predictable, safe and minimally invasive placement of dental implants.
Computerized tomography provides information about the position of the nerve canals, anatomical structures to safeguard these during implant placement procedure.
How is image-guided digital dental implant performed?
A 3D simulated procedure is carried out to plan the surgical procedure by the Dentist.
The implant position too is planned digitally for utmost accuracy.
What are the advantages of guided dental implant?
The advantages of guided dental implant are many-
1.Guided Dental Implant surgery causes least pain and discomfort to the patients post surgery.
2.Guided Dental implant is the most safe and predictable as it helps you to avoid any damage to important structures during the surgery
3.The patient can resume his/her daily routine as its minimally invasive surgical procedure.
Digital treatment planning also helps to identify any bone deficiencies or complications that can hamper the implant placement & help the doctor to be prepared during the surgery.
What affects the cost of guided dental implant?
Although majority of people perceive that the guided dental implant surgeries are costly, latest technologies in dentistry have made such advance dental treatments more affordable to all.The cost depends on several factors such as number of missing teeth etc
For example, if a patient needs one implant, the cost is much less than what is required for several implants. Moreover, cost will increase in case of patients who need bone grafting or jaw reconstruction to place the implant because their jaw bone may be deficient.
“India has seen a tremendous progress in the field of dentistry and is equipped with world class facilities catering to the most complex of dental cases. Fresh Breath Dental hires leading digital dental implant solution provider in India (DIO) for all kinds of dental implant rehabilitation scenarios. TEETH IN A DAY
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
The dental implant is designed to replace the natural tooth root. Made from medical-grade titanium, this lightweight yet durable post safely fuses with the bone beneath the gumline and serves as a stable foundation for the dental crown visible above the gums.
Removable dentures and other conventional tooth replacement methods do not prevent bone loss and, in fact, accelerate this destructive process.
Chewing, biting, and other functions stimulate the jawbone. When teeth are missing, the supportive bone doesn’t get stimulation needed to remain strong. Just as the muscles can atrophy due to inactivity, bone can be affected by lack of stimulation. As the bone melts away (resorbs), the appearance of the face changes.
Cheeks and lips need support from the teeth to maintain their youthful appearance. The lower third of the face retreats. Cheeks become hollow. These changes can make patients look older than they really are.
Bone loss can negatively affect every aspect of life. Chewing foods becomes challenging. Nutrition suffers. Some words may become difficult to pronounce correctly.
Why All on four All on 4 Dental?
Instant improvement in the quality of life
The All on four Dental treatment concept offers patients with a permanent full-arch prosthesis on 4 or more dental implants on the very day of surgery. This improves patient satisfaction in terms of esthetics, function, speech, and confidence.
Reduced treatment time
Two main elements reduce the treatment complexity, overall treatment time and the number of surgeries: tilting of the posterior implants avoids the need for long and tiring bone grafting treatments, while instant loading reduces time to teeth.
Reasonable
The treatment is not just quick but also pretty cost-effective in comparison to conventional implant treatments of the edentulous jaw.
More Stability
To increase bone-to-implant contact, two long posterior implants are tilted. These tilted dental implants can be attached to better quality anterior bone, reducing cantilevers and helping to avoid anatomical structures.
Immediate patient satisfaction
Attain Immediate Function
Due to dedicated drilling protocols and design, our implants attain high stability instantly. Therefore, all our implants can be loaded with a permanent restoration on the same day of surgery.
Provide finest esthetics
Our unrivaled product quality, easy handling and long-term predictability is proven to deliver patient satisfaction.
Sequence of treatment
Examination and planning
The first two visits include extensive planning including an examination, x-rays, bite registration, model analysis.
Surgery
- Morning (2-4 hours)
The surgery begins by extraction of the remaining teeth and placement of FOUR dental implants on each arch. The process takes place under local anesthesia. - Afternoon (2-4 hours)
Once the patient has recovered from the anesthesia and surgery, we fabricate a short-term prosthesis that is attached onto the implants. Since this step needs to be extremely precise it is time consuming.
Settling period
The patient needs to wear a temporary prosthesis which is fixed onto the implant for a couple of months. During this time, we request our patients to see us frequently to make sure everything is okay.
Final prosthesis:
Once the gums and implants have completely healed, we will construct a final prosthesis that has a titanium framework.

WISDOM TOOTH- MYTH VS REALITY
From the DOCTOR'S DESK:
From childhood ,I have been interested in knowing about the Wisdom tooth (third molar), surprised by the vast difference of opinion each science teacher had about it, wondering at what it really was for?? Some said it was useless and needed to be removed while others stood for the positive side of it,spotting it helped in chewing and was needed for a complete mouth.
But once I started my professional studies in Dental School i used all the resources available to rule out all the false thoughts i had about teeth especially the third molar.
The third molar is a tooth with diverse shape, there is a little chance of seeing two identical wisdom teeth in two individuals.Sometimes partly erupted wisdom tooth and occasionally fully impacted wisdom tooth are in a rise in the current generation which is believed due to change in dietary habits.
There are many myths about wisdom teeth usually asked by patients at the FRESH BREATH dental clinic of Dr.Rajesh Naik MDS, your Family Dentist ;
Most commonly asked questions or perceived myths about wisdom teeth are the following:
Myth 1
– If wisdom teeth are not removed, they will become impacted or cause crowding.
This is why many people require orthodontic treatment (braces). Not true – while wisdom teeth can be a factor in crowding, some people have no issues with these teeth. For them, they grow into proper position and are healthy teeth.
Myth 2
– Through dental x-rays and routine check-ups, dentists can predict the timing and way in which wisdom teeth become visible (erupt)
Not true – unfortunately, it is not possible to predict the way wisdom teeth will erupt.
Myth 3
– Everyone has wisdom teeth.
Surprisingly not everyone actually has wisdom teeth. In fact, some people have them beneath the gums that never erupt. Some people have one or two and some people don’t have any at all. All of these scenarios are perfectly acceptable unless you have symptoms indicating something is wrong.
Myth 4
-Everyone needs their wisdom teeth removed.
Well this is probably the greatest myth of all the wisdom teeth will be advised for removal only in case of partial eruption and is causing discomfort life inflammation in gums around tooth (pericoronitis) or difficulty in chewing or opening mouth or decayed tooth causing pain.
Myth 5
– wisdom tooth removal is painful
You shouldn’t feel any pain as your wisdom teeth are removed because the area will be numb. The surgical removal is done by an Oral Surgeon who carefully examines patient and Xray and then plans the removal under Local Anesthesia. The procedure usually takes 25-40mins.Patient is generally comfortable because of premeditation and will only perceive a little bit of pressure with absolutely no pain during procedure.
